THE Felbridge Hotel's former executive chef was the runner-up Chef of the Year in the Independent newspaper's first ever food and drink awards.
Matt Budden was praised for his 'match-making skill with which he introduces sturdily British ingredients to Continental and Asiatic partners', which is a culmination of his love for local Sussex produce and his experiences working in the Pacific Rim.
