A Chichester care home provider has scooped a national award for excellence in providing residential care for older people and its focus on innovation and engagement with residents.

Anchor Hanover, which runs Augusta Court care home in Winterbourne Road, won Large Residential Care Provider of the Year at the 2020 LaingBuisson Awards for the second consecutive year.

The judges cited Anchor Hanover’s use of Memoride, a virtual cycling platform for older people, in their decision.

They said: “The Memoride, a pedal exerciser which generates an image of a town onto a screen using Google Maps, is simple yet effective to taking people ‘out.’ The business outcome and service users outcome is remarkable.”
