Pupils at Swiss Gardens Primary School in Shoreham collected donations for the homeless after a concerned Year 5 pupil asked whether they would get a visit from Father Christmas too.

During an exercise in which pupils wrote a list to Santa, Harvey Matthews (pictured centre) raised the question, which led to a group discussion.

The class decided to collect items ‘incase Santa doesn’t make it to them’ – which resulted in 80 bags of donated clothes, blankets, toys, books and toiletries in aid of Worthing Churches Homeless Project.
