PCSO Jones said: "We would like this project to be fun, informative and successful. "In our role, we meet and talk with hundreds of children who hang around the streets with nothing to do and typically say 'I'm bored and there's nothing to do'. "This is sometimes where the trouble starts, such as anti-social behaviour, drinking on the streets and damage to property. "Incidents of anti-social behaviour cause concern to the community in general and have a significant impact on the quality of life." PCSO Williams said the police cadets, army cadets, air training corps, Beavers, Scouts, Cubs and Brownies were among the organisations involved in the week. "We are going to introduce some cooking and healthy eating education, football with coaching and many other field activities. "We are planning a mini-sports day, mobile skate park and talent day where the children can show off," she said. "We are approaching many people who are involved with sports and hobbies to help us promote this week of activity. "The 39 Club have offered activities such as film and music production, IT training, bug collecting, pottery, snooker, table tennis, T-shirt printing, badge making, competitions with prizes and many other activities." A display by birds of prey, street dancing and a talent day will also take place. Next month's event will build on an initial week of activities held by PCSOs Williams and Jones last year. This proved popular and those who took part enjoyed themselves. The fun will start on August 10 and last until August 14. Taking part is free, but places need to be booked on 01243 864336 or by email to 3youthbo@westsussex.gov.uk What do you think?
