Sussex Cricket League round-up: League leaders suffer second defeat

PRESTON NOMADS fell to just their second defeat of the season in the Sussex Cricket League Division 1 on Saturday.

Nomads were skittled out for just 181 as they chased 212 for victory meaning Cuckfield secured a 30-run success.

The loss means Nomads now only lead the way by eight points as second-placed Roffey.

Roffey ensured the gap between them and the leaders was closed after they beat Brighton & Hove by seven-wickets.

Elsewhere in Division 1, Horsham beat Bexhill by five wickets, Eastbourne secure a six-wicket success against Billingshurst and East Grinstead clinched a four-wicket win over Middleton.

Hastings & St.Leonards Priory returned to the summit of Division 2 following a 50-run triumph over Three Bridges.

Hastings were knocked off top-spot last week after they were beaten by Lindfield but a return to winning ways saw them climb back up into first place.
